What is ICSI?

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection, ICSI is a procedure that directly introduces an individual sperm into each egg obtained during an IVF procedure. ICSI is used in cases where a couple’s medical history suggests assisted fertilization may increase the chances for a successful outcome. Generally speaking, this would include abnormal semen values such as decreased count, low motility or poor morphology of the sperm.
